Who
we are:
Arone Co. is a group of small companies all initially
formed simply to serve the needs of the owners - Gary & Hilary Fletcher
- when the option of having various matters looked after by larger,
third party organisations became unattractive to them.
Gary's core, though not always sole, occupation has been and
remains that of a musician. For the past 23 years his principal 'gig' has
been with The Blues Band, which was formed in 1979 with Paul Jones
and Tom McGuinness from the group Manfred Mann, legendary Brit bluesman
Dave Kelly, and Hughie Flint (of McGuinness Flint fame), who was later
replaced by ex-Family drummer Rob Townsend. The band has since gone on to
record over 17 albums and to tour extensively. Gary has also run other
sizable companies in non music industry related fields for international
corporations.
Hilary had previously worked both as a copywriter and on a
number of projects which had left her with a good grasp of several
computer graphic/photo manipulation programs, and bringing her experience
of such things to web design, together with her eye for the visual, was a
natural step.
Gary’s general grip of computer use in music production etc
and other more basic business functions was reasonable so although the
digesting of a working knowledge of HTML coding took a little time and
created several thousand grey hairs, it was felt that Arone had enough
understanding of what was needed to get the job done of the redesign &
management of a new Blues Band website. Thus AroneWeb was
created. The other companies in the Arone (‘our own’) stable include
AroneShop, AroneSongs & AroneRecords.
Gary, Hilary & their small team understand both sides of the
client/designer relationship better than many. They also understand that
the client shouldn't have to pay exorbitant fees, or be blinded by jargon,
or be 'encouraged' into having a larger site than they really need etc
etc. They should just have their needs met simply, efficiently and at a
fair price.
